On the visit
How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
Split the machine in two
Burners and ignition above, elements and sensors below. They share a control module and almost nothing else, and the code says which side is reporting.
-
02
The accessories are circuits too
Griddle and grill elements have their own supply and their own ways of failing, and they are the reason a range "half works".
-
03
Work in place where we can
These are heavy, and the flooring in front of them is usually the expensive part of the room. Most repairs are done without moving the range.
-
04
Test both halves before leaving
Every burner lit, the oven brought to temperature and read against a thermometer.

The appliance the brand is built around. A Professional range is two machines sharing a cabinet — a cooktop with star burners or an induction surface on top, and an oven underneath — and the two fail in completely different ways. Knowing which half you are describing shortens the visit before anybody arrives.
- A burner that clicks and will not light
- The oven not reaching or holding temperature
- The griddle heating unevenly across the plate

About Thermador professional range repair
Two appliances, one chassis
A professional range carries a gas cooktop and an electric oven — and often a griddle, a grill, or a second oven — on a single frame with one control module tying them together. Almost every diagnosis begins by working out which half is reporting, because the parts, the risks and the price are different on each side. A range where the burners light and the oven does not is not "a broken range"; it is an oven repair in a heavy cabinet.
What we see most on these
- Ignition on the sealed burners — electrodes and caps, after boil-overs
- Oven sensors and elements, with the cavity codes naming which one
- The self-clean latch, which has four published conditions of its own
- Griddle and grill circuits, which fail on their own and leave the rest working
What decides the figure
Which half, which part, and whether the range has to be moved. Most of these are done in place.

Questions about thermador professional range repair
The burners work but the oven does not heat.
That is the electric half, and on a dual-fuel range it is a separate diagnosis: element, sensor or control. The gas top working tells you the appliance has power and the controls are alive, which is genuinely useful information.
Is a professional range more expensive to repair?
Per part, not usually — it is the same electrodes and sensors as smaller equipment. What differs is that there are more of them, and that the chassis is heavy and built into a run of cabinetry, so some jobs take longer to reach.
My griddle has stopped but everything else is fine.
Then it is the griddle circuit, and that is a contained repair. It is worth saying on the phone, because it changes what we bring.
