# Thermador dishwashers

### Panel-ready changes the appointment, not the repair

When your cabinetry is mounted on the door, the door carries its weight as well as its own and the springs are set for it. Taking that panel off and putting it back true is part of the job, and it is why these visits are planned a little differently.

### What actually goes wrong

- **Water standing in the tub.** The filter first, then the drain pump cover, then the hose and the air gap. This is the largest single category and a good share of it is not a repair at all.
- **Plastics coming out wet.** These machines dry by condensation rather than with an element in the tub, and plastic does not hold enough heat to drive its own water off. Glass and steel coming out wet as well is a different conversation and worth a look.
- **The leak protection tripping.** Water in the base pan, the machine locked out, and a code or a pattern of flashing lights depending on the model.
- **Scale.** South Florida water is hard and the machine will eventually say so. Left long enough it costs the heat pump rather than the descaler.

### Tell us if the front is a cabinet panel

A panel-ready machine wears your joinery on its door, and the controls are on the top edge where you cannot see them with the door shut. It comes out and goes back differently, and the difference is time rather than difficulty. Saying so when you book is what turns it into one visit instead of two.
